Hello and thank you for visiting our website to learn more about us.
D’Estee, Inc., a not for profit 501(c)3, was established May 9,1989 to solicit and contribute funds to support educational and cultural initiatives for the communities we serve. As President of D’Estee, Inc., it is my honor and pleasure to lead our Foundation through the tumultuous time we’re experiencing around the world and in our community. We are truly our sisters’ and brothers’ keepers. If this pandemic has taught us anything, it is to persevere through adversity, prepare for the unexpected, and pursue every opportunity.
We have persevered through the loss of companies, jobs, friends, and family members. We have prepared and sanitized our facility, while adding air filters, to ensure everyone on the premises remains safe while on the premises as we attempt to return to some sense of normalcy. We actively pursue grant opportunities of which we become aware to ensure the continued financial stability of the foundation.
But we are still missing one important factor. We need your involvement and your support of D’Estee, Inc. to continue to prosper, grow and meet the needs of our community that we strive so hard to serve. Our Adult Literacy program has served participants for more than 30 years and we have touched the lives of 500+ adult learners since its inception for the better. One of our goals is to upgrade technology used in the program to enhance participant learning. Your support will aid us as we look to achieve other goals to include facility repairs and a sound system upgrade to stay in step with increased needs of tenants and those involved in upcoming activities held on site. These improvements are in addition to covering monthly expenses and mortgage payments.
While we have not been inside the building due to COVID-19 Protocols for the past two years, we are looking forward eagerly to returning to the premise. For 2022 we hope to upgrade the Adult Literacy Program technology, make property repairs, pay down the mortgage and modernize the sound system. The financial goal for the Foundation is to raise $150,000.
Please know that we welcome your support now as we move forward to continue the work of D’Estee. Your contribution will certainly help us as we proceed to welcome everyone and the community back into our home – The D’Estee House.
